JAKARTA – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), which is partly owned by MIND ID, recorded a very significant increase in gold production and sales as well as copper ore production and sales until the third quarter of 2021.

In the company’s official statement, the realization of gold production until September reached 968 thousand ounces, an increase of 67.7% from the realization in the same period last year, which was 577 thousand ounces. Meanwhile, gold sales were recorded at 957 thousand ounces, an increase of 74% from last year’s realization of 549 thousand ounces.

Meanwhile for copper ore production, up to the third quarter the realization reached 956 million pounds, a significant increase from last year’s realization with the same period of 577 million pounds. Meanwhile, sales until last September reached 946 million pounds, an 82% increase from last year’s position in the same period of 518 million pounds.

The increase in sales of copper and gold ore until the third quarter was supported by increased activities in underground mining. In addition, shipments are also not delayed, aka on time, so that sales can be maximized.

Until 2021, PTFI management targets to sell 1.3 billion pounds of copper ore and 1.3 million ounces of gold. The target is an increase compared to last year’s realization of 800 million pounds of copper ore and 800 thousand ounces of gold. (RI)
